The Meaning Behind Veggera
The name “Veggera” is more than just a word—it’s a symbol of Cretan culture. In the Cretan dialect, it refers to a gathering of people who come together to share life’s moments, whether it’s joy during a celebration or comfort during hardships. This deep-rooted tradition inspired me to create an experience that goes beyond cooking.
At Veggera, my goal is to connect visitors with the essence of Crete. Through food, stories, and hands-on activities, I want to share the beauty of our island’s heritage and invite you to feel like part of the Cretan family. Every recipe has a story, every moment holds meaning, and every guest leaves with a piece of Crete in their heart.

The Heart Behind Veggera
About Me
Hello! My name is Paraskevas, and I’m the proud creator of Veggera. Born and raised in Stylos, Crete, I grew up immersed in the traditions of our island—learning recipes from my grandmother, tending to the family garden, and celebrating life with music and food.
Veggera is a reflection of my life’s passion: to preserve and share the unique culture of Crete. When you join me, you’re not just taking part in a cooking lesson—you’re stepping into my world, where every detail is infused with love for our heritage. Together, we’ll cook, laugh, and create unforgettable memories.
Be a Part of the Veggera Story
At Veggera, every detail is crafted to immerse you in the beauty of Crete. From harvesting ingredients in the garden to savoring traditional dishes at a shared table, the experience is both heartfelt and unforgettable.
When the mandolin begins to play and the final dessert is served, you’ll feel the spirit of Crete come alive. Join me for an adventure into flavors, traditions, and the joy of shared moments.

EXCELLENT Based on 28 reviews Adam Kavalier2024-12-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an incredible experience at Veggera. Paraskevas and Sophia were wonderful hosts. They welcomed us onto their farm and into their home. We cooked a delicious multi-course meal together. We visited their animals and garden and learned about how they make olive oil, cheese, honey and wine. Our two kids ages 4 and 6 enjoyed it thoroughly, it was nice to have them learn about all of the natural and organic ways of small farm production. We’ve been coming to Crete for years and this was certainly a highlight. We highly recommended it! Murray Glimsdale2024-12-23Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jen Arricale2024-10-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This day exceeded our expectations. It was so fun & interesting to learn about the farm life in a Cretan shepherd village. We were treated to the most delicious & fresh food imaginable- and played a big part in its preparation. Milking a goat is harder than it looks! Also very fun once you get the hang of it. Such a relaxed pace & the warmth of the family made our day a memory of a lifetime. Beautiful people sharing their traditional village life. What a special thing. Paraskevas and Sophia and the whole family welcomed us and made us feel at home, we explored the farm, met the family, picked fresh organic products including fresh walnuts (which I love!), we tried and tasted a whole range of organic food and drinks too all from the farm, we then cooked with all ingredients that came from the farm, we learned how to make traditional Cretian dishes and then had dinner with the family. Paraskevas took his time with us to explain all of the products and the Cretian way of life. It was a very special experience that I will treasure. Thank-you again to Paraskevas, Sophia and the whole family for hosting our visit, it was great! Theo N2024-10-18Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The best!!!!!
