The Meaning Behind Veggera
The name “Veggera” is more than just a word, it’s a symbol of Cretan culture. In the Cretan dialect, it refers to a gathering of people who come together to share life’s moments, whether it’s joy during a celebration or comfort during hardships. This deep-rooted tradition inspired me to create an experience that goes beyond cooking.
At Veggera, my goal is to connect visitors with the essence of Crete. Through food, stories, and hands on activities, I want to share the beauty of our island’s heritage and invite you to feel like part of the Cretan family. Every recipe has a story, every moment holds meaning, and every guest leaves with a piece of Crete in their heart.

The Heart Behind Veggera
About Me
Hello! My name is Paraskevas, and I’m the proud creator of Veggera. Born and raised in Stylos, Crete, I grew up immersed in the traditions of our island, learning recipes from my grandmother, tending to the family garden, and celebrating life with music and food.
Veggera is a reflection of my life’s passion: to preserve and share the unique culture of Crete. When you join me, you’re not just taking part in a cooking lesson—you’re stepping into my world, where every detail is infused with love for our heritage. Together, we’ll cook, laugh, and create unforgettable memories.
Be a Part of the Veggera Story
At Veggera, every detail is crafted to immerse you in the beauty of Crete. From harvesting ingredients in the garden to savoring traditional dishes at a shared table, the experience is both heartfelt and unforgettable.
When the mandolin begins to play and the final dessert is served, you’ll feel the spirit of Crete come alive. Join me for an adventure into flavors, traditions, and the joy of shared moments.
EXCELLENT Based on 131 reviews Posted on Google Stephanie StukeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We did this cooking class during our family trip to Crete. We did a private class which was amazing. The class is in a picturesque location. Sophia and her family are so warm and welcoming. We had a great time and learned to cook several Greek dishes. The kids loved seeing all the animals. Highly recommend this class for anyone staying in the chania area.Posted on Google daniel PTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. An amazing experience from start to finish. Not only do you learn how to cook. You get to meet wonderful people in a beautiful place, experience and learn a lot about Cretan culture and their way of life in the village. The hosts Paraskevas and Sophia make you feel very welcomed from the start. The food was amazing and it’s really something you can try to cook at home. This experience offers much more than just a cooking class, and the hosts Paraskevas and Sophia are very happy to help with useful information to make your trip more enjoyable. The best day of our trip! Special thanks Sophia and Paraskevas!Posted on Google sharon landesmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. K&G aus BerlinPosted on Google Marie-Pierre PernoudTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Une immense en Crète. If I could give Veggera more than 5 stars, I would. Out of all of our excursions during our Mediterranean cruise, this was not only our favorite day...it was one of the best travel experiences our family has ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The hospitality was truly second to none. The food was absolutely incredible, and being able to see where so much of it was grown made the meal even more special. We explored the farm, met the animals, played with a baby kitten, bottle fed lambs, milked a goat, and wandered around their beautiful property. It was an experience that delighted every member of our group, from the youngest children to the grandparents. The cooking experience itself was fantastic, but what made the day unforgettable was the warmth and generosity of the family. We enjoyed homemade wine, some of the best olive oil we've ever tasted, live music, endless laughter, and enough delicious food to send us home with leftovers. We were even gifted homemade whiskey at the end of the day. Several members of our group have celiac disease, and the accommodations were exceptional. We felt completely safe eating there, which can be difficult when traveling internationally. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and we never once felt like an inconvenience. By the end of the day, we felt less like customers and more like honored guests in someone's home. The love, pride, and care this family puts into what they do is evident in every part of the experience. If you are considering booking Veggera, don't hesitate. This isn't just a cooking class or a farm visit...it's an experience that will stay with you long after your trip is over.Posted on Google Alexandra MirandaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was the first activity we booked, because it looked like a fun authentic experience. We enjoyed it very much, it was very relaxed and fun to cook together. Was lovely to connect with eachother in this way. Sophia made sure we felt welcome. While food was in the oven, we got a little tour over the farm. And enjoyed the homemade wine. Lovely to see they did an effort to feed a sick kitty and that they we got a ride back with Sophia, so super friendly! Would 100% recommend
